On July 16th, St. Andrew’s Church hosted its 18th annual golf tournament at Wellington Golf Club. Under somewhat hazy skies, over 76 enthusiastic participants teed off, vying for the coveted first place trophy.

On the day of the tournament, Archdeacon Nancy greeted contestants as they arrived at the golf course and then chauffeured our photographer around the course in a golf cart. Some of these wonderful photos can be seen in the gallery on the website. Each golfer received a swag bag before heading out onto the course. This year, two teams finished in first place with 10 under par! Other contests were won by putting closest to the line or to the hole.

Following the game, everyone made their way over to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church hall, where they sat down to a delicious roast beef dinner prepared by St. Andrew’s volunteer crew.

After the roast beef dinner and delicious cake, red bag tickets were drawn, winners of the silent auction were announced, and the golf winners were presented with their plaques and prizes.

Hearty thanks must go to all the amazing volunteers who helped make this yearly tournament a success: the organizers, participants, helpers, sponsors, and donors. It was  another successful fundraiser for both the church and the local foodbank.

And so the tradition continues!
