The Chili Cook-Off on March 1 marked a warm and spicy beginning to meteorological spring. At the first potluck Sunday of spring, we saw eleven chili chefs vie for the honour of being awarded the beautiful blue chili bowl. The winner gets to keep the bowl for an entire year and defend their title the following year.

The judging team, led by Archdeacon Nancy, had a tough job, but the blind-tasting and the awarding of points resulted in a tie for third place, a second-place runner-up, and the ultimate winner, Lori-Anne.

It was a fun after-service potluck, and people lingered, enjoying the chili, the cornbread, the wonderful desserts, and each other’s company.
