The Annual Golf Tournament
August 7 was a great date for St. Andrew's annual golf tournament, hot but sunny, and everyone in great spirits. Since last year's tournament was rained out, the agreeable weather this year felt all the better. There were over 70 players who took part in both the golf and the dinner afterwards in the church hall. Raising even more funds for the Wellington Foodbank, the silent auction that took place after the dinner was also a great success.
So many thanks are owed to so many people who helped make the tournament a success, particularly Keith Norris, the chief organizer. Other organizers to whom we owe thanks are Dave Huether, David Bailey, Janice Walkey, Lee Ramsbottom, Bill Pennell, Deborah Sawatzky, Carol Norris, Barb Ledain, Joel Ledain, and Archdeacon Nancy. And then all the wonderful volunteers in the kitchen who prepared the delicious meal. Thanks must also be given to the various hole sponsors and the people who donated items for the silent auction.
A united effort has brought wonderful results for our community.
