At the beginning of May, the “back pack teams” began delivering backpacks to our local migrant workers. This beautiful ecumenical ministry, begun by MaryAnn Barrett and Bill Barrett works to gather items for the migrant workers that come to work here in The County to support our various farms and wineries. The backpacks include, among other things: toiletries, a toque, a hoodie, a ball cap, warm socks, snacks.
This year, we were able to distribute 75 backpacks across the county to the workers. St. Andrew’s supported this ministry this year both through out Endowment fund and through items gathered from the WhatNot Thrift Shop.
