The first community supper of the season, held on a hot Wednesday evening in September, was a great success. Hosted by our own ACW, the meal consisted of ham and scalloped potatoes, vegetables, coleslaw and apple crumble. One hundred and two plates were served, including many takeouts. St. Andrew’s has been hosting a community supper monthly for eighteen years. The meal is free to all members of the community, although a free will offering is always appreciated.
The many volunteers who turned up to help serve the meals made the hosting work fun. It was a delight to see the community out in force and to see the church hall full as we kicked off this season’s first supper. Guests were chatting, socializing, and enjoying the food and each other — a marvellous community event.
