On a cold and miserable Wednesday evening in mid-November, the church hall at St. Andrew’s was filled with warmth and laughter and the sweet smells of baking. St. Andrew’s first Bake and Bid was underway. Each participant brought something they had baked and then was able to bid on the seasonal delectables brought by another.
Each person had a number, and auctioneer David Bailey, with the help of the cheery crowd, managed to keep the bids straight, with a little help, to drive the numbers up. Everyone left with a goodly number of baked goods, most of which could be frozen for the upcoming festivities.
A wonderful evening and a great fundraiser. Bake and Bid is likely to become an annual event.
