Coffee Hour at Wellington on the Lake

St. Andrew's hosted one of June's Saturday morning coffee hours at the Wellington on the Lake rec centre. Featuring a wonderful spread of goodies by St. Andrew's women, a group of about forty enjoyed an hour of socializing and snacking and drinking coffee. Archdeacon Nancy spoke to the assembled group for a few minutes about St. Andrew's and the many activities that the church is involved in or sponsors in the community. A great outreach opportunity.

ACW Bridge Tournament

Thursday, May 8, 2025

The ACW semi-annual Bridge Tournament was held at St Andrew’s Church on Thursday, May 8. The event was well attended — ten tables of great bridge players, both men and women. The luncheon, held before play began, featured a delectable dessert table, all prepared by St. Andrew’s parishioners. At the end of the afternoon, Mary Dunlop awarded the bridge prizes as well as facilitated the ticket draws for gifts.

A wonderful afternoon of fun and good bridge!

Community Suppers at St. Andrew's

Monthly Community Suppers are held in the St. Andrew's church hall on the third Wednesday of the month. Organized by Marilyn Root, in the red apron, a different chef from the County takes charge of the menu each month. These suppers are free but donations are gladly accepted as all proceeds go to local charities. Each dinner, September to June, is well attended and a wonderful social opportunity for the community.

Farley

Our Church Dog

Farley is the faithful companion of Archdeacon Nancy and a favourite of the entire congregation. Although he doesn't often attend Sunday services, he does join us for the mid-week eucharist and Bible discussion. He also sits in on book studies, church decorating, council meetings, and he lends colourful support to our Christmas decorating day. He is always ready for ear rubs and head scratches. A welcome presence at St. Andrew's.

Pancake Tuesday

Pancake Tuesday saw St. Andrew's enjoying a traditional pancake and sausage dinner in the church hall. Under the watchful eye of Marlene C., Archdeacon Nancy and other volunteers from our church made visitors welcome. On a dark and rainy evening, it was a warm and happy event.

Chili Fest!

February's Chili Challenge

Every February, the men of St. Andrew's take up the challenge of preparing the most delicious chili for the monthly potluck. After a blind tasting, the winner is declared and gets to take home the Blue Bowl. The following year, the contenders try again. This year's winner was Ray D, wearing a matching blue t-shirt.

Our church has a tradition of offering coffee and treats in the parish hall after each Sunday service. The photos here were provided by many of our church members, and we thank them for supplying our website with great photography!
